NEWSPAPER

The Prehistoric Post

A weekly newspaper for dinosaurs, featuring different sections to appeal to a wider audience, maintaining new and interesting information to keep everyone informed.

PROBLEM
There are so many dinosaurs all across the continent of Pangaea that remaining up to date on breaking news and topics is difficult.

OBJECTIVE
To keep dinosaurs’ knowledge from going extinct by providing the latest up to date information they might need on a variety of topics.

THE WORK
+ Concept
+ Copywriting
+ Art direction

+ UX & UI
+ Publication
+ Printing
+ Advertising

THE THINKING
It all began with a crazy thought - what if the dinosaurs received word about the asteroid before it struck earth? This spun into the wild idea of getting news to dinosaurs millions of years ago.

THE PROCESS
Considering today’s newspapers, I worked on developing 12 sections and copywriting everything from headlines to bylines to quotes, filling up the 32 page paper with over 75 news stories catered especially to this new (or old?) audience. Weaving in my research on dinosaurs and what would have drawn their attention, while trying to be clever through the use of advertising and art directed visuals, The Prehistoric Post came together with an established voice that could be heard across eras.

THE EXPLORATION
Creating a solution comes from many sketches, iterations, prototypes, and best of all, mistakes. With constant feedback and analyzation at each step of the work, the process yields great results. Here’s a peek at some of the steps I flew between while working on The Prehistoric Post.
